Carpenter at Work

"Each piece of wood is patiently selected, and it's life celebrated, when brought together through the harmony of design executed by the diligent hand of the craftsman."

About

My aim is to produce the highest quality heirloom furniture using responsibly gathered natural resources combined with environmentally sustainable joinery and finishing methods. I take on a cradle-to-grave approach when thinking through each piece and focus on reducing the overall impact at each stage of the piece's lifespan; including its eventual repair, reuse or disposal after several generations of service.

Timeless Elegance -

I blend time-tested joinery methods with exacting precision, whether through hand tools or machines, to arrive a piece that will stand the tests of time both through its use and through the changing fashions. My primary focus is to ensure that each client receives a true heirloom piece that will coveted and passed on for generations while also celebrating the wood for its gift of life through the creative process.

Ecological Stewardship -

Each item we create or buy actively shapes our tomorrow. I proactively take steps to ensure that through all steps of the building process  we are helping bring about a cleaner, more sustainable future. Natural and locally harvested wood products are heavily preferred and selected over engineered or exotically-sourced wood products. I am also continually experimenting and using natural pigments, waxes and finishes, where appropriate, in an attempt to ensure lead, plastics and other volatile organic compounds are removed from the production process an ultimately our customers' homes. The extra care in this way can reduce the harmful effects our health, both producer and consumer, and the health of our greater ecosystem.

Functional Art -

Each piece is meant to provide utility to the owner while at the same time hold enough inherent beauty to justify its presence in their unique space.
